A Powerful Weapon

During the Election

  • Facebook - Black Circle

"More than in most previous presidential campaigns, technology has played a central role. "

Evidently, Social media like Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat or Instagram are deployed by candidates to spread out political standings or simply self-promoting.

For Reaching Out Public with Political Propaganda

-"Your vote could make a difference!"

-"Make America Great Again!"

-"Thanks for voting!!!"

-"You have to vote!! TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!"

This year's election seems like a comedy than ever especially consider candidates' behavior of imposing hate-speeches on each other via social platforms.

-Hilary's EMAIL…

-She 'can't satisfy her husband', what makes her think she can satisfy America?

-Trump's TAX

-GRAB PUSSY…

-RACISM, SEXISM, BUILDING THE WALL!!

Donald Trump's Art of Twitting

Research finds out that 27% of his Tweets are positive, 61% are negative and the rest 12% stays neutral.

A lot of his Tweets contains EXCLAMATION MARKS that "instead of letting us read, he forces us to HEAR". Like instead of saying "I love you", one would type "I loooooove you" to transmit some emotional content that only exists in face-to-face conversations. Trump is "not thinking about us at all, but simply express his personal emotions and opinion" just like most people do every day in the age of digital media.

  • Instagram - Black Circle

This piece of Instagram post, lasting only 15 seconds and directly addressing to the former president Barack Obama on his policy upon terrorism, enables Trump to produce anything with ZERO COST.

Therefore, Instagram videos are believed to be "the future of American politics"

Thanks to the advancement of new technology, WE gradually evolve from Internet "audiences" into "users" or "consumers". Social media platform allows everyone to freely participate the election, discuss political opinions or even make fun of candidates online.

1 Billion Tweets about the election using the hashtag #Election2016 since the primary debates began in August, 2015

On the election day, more than 27,000 election-related posts were sent across the network every minute

The total number of twitter reaches 40 million by the end of the day
